Photography

Photography has been one of my biggest passions since I picked up our family’s Kodak digital camera around the age of 14. I took hundreds of pictures of the dogs. I tried different techniques that supposed professionals used, like wetting a flower down with a spray bottle to get a dewey look. I used photos I took with that little Kodak to get an art scholarship to the college I’m currently attending. Then about 2 years ago I splurged to buy my own DSLR, a Canon Rebel XSi that I love dearly.

My equipment includes the kit 18-55mm lens, the 50mm (1.8 aka the nifty fifty), a remote shutter, a Sunpak 6600PG tripod, and a neutral density filter, as well as a long wish list.

I post pictures more often than not (as you’ve probably noticed if this isn’t the first time you’ve visited my blog), and I think a blog post is missing if I don’t put a photo in it. I like to photograph anything that catches my eye, although dogs are my main subjects. I’m slowly working to get experience – with a focus on babies, kids & families – so I can begin building my portfolio. I love structured criticism and talking all about photography so if anyone shares the same passion then leave a comment and let me know. I’d love to hear from other photogs!
