The Ignorance of People Scares Me

And what might scare me even more is the lack of motivation to educate themselves about matters. For instance, dog breeding. I have strong feelings on this. And when someone comes up to me and tells me they’re getting a puppy from the local pet shop, the dragon in me comes out full force. I won’t bore you with the details of my rant, but that’s the basics of it. EDUCATE YOURSELF, PEOPLE!

It was a winter wonderland outside today. Snowed from 6 in the morning until it got dark. Loved it, just hate driving in it! (:

Last Minute Shoppers & A Steady Day At Work

last minute shopping

This was my view on my (short) break today. I kind of regretted going out; the traffic was absolutely horrendous. I thought *I* was a bad last minute shopper!

One more day of work, then Christmas Eve! Can’t wait. (: Everybody have a good night!

The Weather Outside is Frightful…

Actually it didn’t start snowing until 7ish tonight. And the beginning of the day was quite nice. But it is snowing now.

Since about 2:30pm this afternoon, my boyfriend and I have been baking recipes I found on Pinterest. Here are just a couple nom nom moments… (:

And my battery grip came today! It is used but works great and is my Christmas present to me. (: Love it!

And some of the shepherds thrown in for good measure. (:

First Snowfall of the Year

I was beginning to wonder if we were going to have a brown Christmas like we did last year. Of course we still might, but it was kind of nice to see the white fluffy stuff coming down from the sky. If it would stay like this all year – light, fluffy snowman-type snow that stays OFF the streets – it would be perfect. :P

What do you think of my new header? I wanted something more festive, more a mark of the season. Messing with photoshop has been so much fun. I’m not *quite* satisfied with it, but it’ll do for now. I’m also thinking about decorating my room for Christmas. Put up lights around my window or something. I’m so ready for Christmas break, more so than usual it feels like. My lists have gotten bigger since yesterday’s post. *sigh*

Sometimes I wonder what my life looks like to people who follow me on Instagram. Seeing little shots of my life, where I’ve been, who I’m with, what I do, maybe even how I see things. What kind of image of me does that give to people? Just curious…

Black & White Thursday

My creative juices have been flowing recently. Not very strongly, mind you, but I’ve had the urge to do something crafty for my wall and/or for Christmas photo ideas. I’ve found some pretty neat ideas on Pinterest and Google, and looked through the local craft store AND dollar store today (never underestimate the dollar store!) and found some neat things I might want to go back and get.

Btw, I totally made that up: Black & White Thursday. Only because the two photos I have to share today are monochrome.

I’m still hesitant to look too far ahead, because I have some big projects to get done before I can think of relaxation time. Speaking of that, one of my professors for a next semester class sent out an email asking us to buy this book and read it over break so we can discuss it the first few days of class. I don’t understand the hype with forcing us students to READ over break when we WILL read of our own accord, and our own choice of books at that! Ah well.

Quick school checklist for self:

– Personal statement/essay for Regis University (due Friday by noon)

– Turn in complete career portfolio (Friday by noon)

– Finish detailed outline (due Monday by 11am)

– Print off career portfolio (due Monday @ 11am)

– Get form signed by advisor (Monday @ 11am)

………and? I still feel like I’m missing something big, important. Ugh.

Quick personal checklist (sorta):

– Put together Christmas mini sessions idea (location, props, backdrop, crafts)

– Begin Christmas shopping

– Edit mine & Dustin’s 2yr photos

– Edit Jade’s photos

– Edit Peyton’s motorcycle/1yr photos

-Register for GRE

– Finish grad school apps!!!!

One Keystroke At A Time

That’s what I’m saying to myself as I’m  s   l   o   w  l    y  making my way through the paper I have to write. I’m seriously considering pulling an all-nighter. That might not be smart. But necessary? Perhaps. I am reaching the last stretch of the semester. And all I have to say is, where the heck did it go?!? I don’t think a semester has ever gone so fast before. Now that I’m thinking about it though, I feel like the last four years of college have flown by compared to my four years of high school. My head is still spinning in the vortex of it all. Maybe I’ll come out alive.

Enough about school. No one wants to hear about that. I don’t think so, anyway. Speaking of that, I’m amazed that I have whopping 103 followers when I really don’t try very hard to entertain anyone. I blog for the sake of blogging, because I enjoy reflecting on my day of sorts, writing down thoughts, sharing photos, and stuff like that. Personal reasons.

That being said, I am on a search for what to do for next year. I’ve gotten one vote for themed posts. I’m seriously considering the 365 photo project, since it is on my 101 in 1001 list. Answering one question a day, about anything and everything (within limits of course)? So what do you all think? Seriously, help me out here followers! Even if you know of any challenges going on over the blogosphere, or any links where they have daily prompts or monthly challenges, send ’em to me please.rack

If I don’t get any suggestions or anything, I’ll probably just keep doing what I’ve been doing. Which isn’t a bad thing but I’d like to get a little taste of change. You know, spice things up a bit. (:
